| - Dutch Bros. has become sort of the millennial alternative to Starbucks. The drinks are similar, albeit a bit more expansive in options, but the prices are mostly identical.
I think a lot of their popularity stems from the friendliness of their employees. It's obvious that they've been very well trained in this area. Unfortunately, as many other reviewers have noted, the drive-thru line is ridiculously long. I came here to cash in a gift card I received from work and counted a grand total of 22 cars in front of me! So yeah, there's a reason why people suggest just using the outdoor line.
I've had their Cocomo (Coconut and Mocha) a few times in freeze form. On first sip, it's very impressive, but tends to water down relatively quickly. In terms of competing options, I'd just say that it's average at best. My favorite cold coffee is located at a joint that's nowhere near this Dutch Bros, but I honestly don't really find it leagues above what I've had at nearby competitors.
They definitely have their fair share of fans, but aside from exchanging pleasantries, I fail to see the mass appeal.
