| - I went to Rockwood for a friend's going-away party a few weeks ago. Some of the members of our group wanted to fancy this party up, so we actually had a reserved booth on the rooftop patio with bottle service. I will note right now that I am NOT the type of girl that gets bottle service, and this was the first and likely the last time it will ever happen to me. Not that it wasn't ridiculously awesome to have bartenders bring us full bottles of Grey Goose along with a tray full of glasses and multiple mixes, but it is just too high-class for my usual tastes!
Anyway, the rooftop patio was incredibly gorgeous and the highlight of the night for me. It's decorated like some kind of zen garden with beautiful greenery, canopies and wood. The bar was incredibly long and, again, beautiful in appearance, and to top it off, right behind the bar was a massive projection screen playing Ocean's Eleven on repeat throughout the night. Wicked cool (even without sound).
As I said, the bottle service was definitely fun for a one-time thing, but damn was it expensive (fortunately there were rich friends involved and I was only asked to chip in a little!). We were given three mixes: orange juice, cranberry juice, and bar lime. The bar lime and cranberry were fine, but the orange juice had definitely come from a big bottle of Sunny D. Gross!
I didn't spend much time in the actual inside levels of the bar where the dancing went down, but it did seem rather small and intimate, which is nice. The bathrooms were also very clean and the ladies working there were very nice as well.
