Maybe a 2 1/2, if I'm being generous. I came here a few months ago for my friends wedding. They have remodeled it a bit and it is much nicer than it was several years ago when I came for the Titanic Exhibit. The wedding was on a very expensive weekend in Vegas (probably some other convention going on) and I paid big money to stay there. The room was just average at best. The problem with the Tropicana is that they have two sections of rooms. One section is located through the casino and the other section is all the way through the back of the casino, past the pool, down a long walkway...keep going...keep going and there you are. It was ridiculous how far back this section is. Seriously, I could have stayed off strip and had a shorter walk to the blvd.
I was originally booked for the other section that was much closer to all the action but when I told them I was here with the wedding party they bamboozled me into staying in the back of the hotel because that's where everyone else was, they said. Well that was incorrect. Besides that, the food choices left a lot to be desired and the gambling didn't have many options that I cared for. The staff was friendly enough but with so many other hotels in Vegas...I can't see myself staying here again.
