  • Due to unfortunate circumstance I was forced to stay at the Las Vegas rescue mission. I have , in the past I listened to many negative rumors pertaining to bugs and unclean conditions as well as Problems with the staff. WELL believe me the rumors are completely false. The wait out in the heat and sun was unpleasant. Very hot and uncomfortable. Some shade of some sort would be very nice. Once you get to intake you will find a very pleasant and competent staff. I really wish I could remember all there names. I stayed on August 20th 2013. with arrival at 3pm D street gate. I was met at the intake and given a breathalyzer to enter the staff also checks for drugs alcohol and weapons. Any found are locked up or thrown away. I found this to be a really good idea. I didn't want to deal with drunks and weapons during my stay. Upon entry to bed area you are offered a shower with towel provided. Again I can't stress enough how pleasant the staff made my stay. You are then directed to a bed #. The beds and the entire area are clean and well kept. There are no bugs rats etc, even the floors shined. The staff checks on you and patrols the area every few minutes ensuring your safety. Dinner was at 5pm and was also very nice the staff and volunteers were very helpful and friendly and very willing to please the guests. Even though some of the guests were rude and inconsiderate to them. Chapel was prior to lights out and was also vey pleasant. Lights out was at 9pm with bed checks correcting talking etc so can get some sleep. Wake up is at 5am with breakfast to follow then check out at 6 am. This business is truly a Christian organization with some of the hardest working staff I have seen anywhere. I have 23 years experience in the gaming field.( all in management) and I would have loved to have had this staff where I have worked. Thumbs up and great job to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
