| - You know, I'd never been to an NBA game before this year. I call myself sports fanatic, but I had never attended one single NBA game. This year, I decided to go to a Cavs game with my dad (aka my real bestie), so we made the four hour drive to watch fulfill that bucket list item.
The hotel is easily accessible from the interstate, but pulling into it is awkward. There's no overhang or anywhere to really park, so you have to pull in somewhere and turn around if you're coming from the opposite direction. Not a huge deal by any means, especially when the valet was so accommodating and attentive.
When we arrived in the lobby (about 6PM), the two front desk agents were wonderful, greeting us promptly and offering us suggestions about where to go in the area. (I had been to Independence many times for business, but I had never actually explored the downtown area). The room was everything you expect from a Hampton Inn: clean and accommodating.
The hotel is about 5 blocks from the Playhouse Square and entertainment district, so you're not on top of all the action but you're not too far away either.
The continental breakfast is fantastic. As a child, I would remember frowning upon the choices that hotel breakfasts had to offer. This hotel offers the work and leaves you feeling satisfied and ready for whatever you're going to do that day.
There isn't any amenities like a pool or a fitness center you'd find in chain hotels in the suburbs but this hotel does exactly what it's intended to do: give you a comfortable place to stay while you go about your business in downtown Cleveland. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel.
