| - Unlimited wine? I'm in 100%. I'm aggrieved that I wasn't informed about this enticing deal sooner. Located off Flamingo and the Linq, Battista's Hole in the Wall has all the character of an old school Italian restaurant. The entryway makes you feel like you're in a giant wine barrel, and the area by the host stand is a feast for the eyes. From floor to ceiling, Battista's is lined with interesting tid bits and knick-knacks (like an extensive collection of mini liquor bottles!). Lighting is dim and like any good Italian joint, patrons are greeted with the sound of raucous laughter and conversation. Reservations are a must - we arrived on a Tuesday evening with reservations at 8PM. We were lucky to find parking in the crowded lot. Amid the hustle and bustle, we ended up being seated at 8:15PM.
CHEESE MANICOTTI ($25.95): Like all meals on the menu, this entree comes with a salad or minestrone soup, garlic bread, unlimited house red and white wine, and a cappuccino at meal's end. I opted for the salad as my starter, which was heavily dressed in Italian and had sparse toppings (1 olive, 1 slice of mozzarella, 1 sweet pepper, etc.). Though lacking creativity, the salad was fine. The accompanying garlic bread was warm, fresh, and delicious. The manicotti was served with a side of creamed spinach, which helped to break up the overwhelming amount of cheese on the manicotti. Instead of being served in wine glasses, guests are provided with small shot-like glasses to use for the wine. Kind of odd, but after a few glasses I cared not. The cappuccino was a sweet treat that I enjoyed every second of. 4/5
CHICKEN RIO ($29.95): "Superb" according to my husband. He said the sauce was quite similar to jagerschnitzel sauce. Served with a side of shredded zucchini. He'd order the same thing again! He didn't leave a speck of food left on the plate and was so full he couldn't drink any more wine. 5/5
SERVICE: Food came out quickly and in order. The waitress was a bit over flirtatious but she took care of us overall.
Worth a Return Visit?
On the whole, I rather enjoyed my meal. I wouldn't order the manicotti again, but will definitely come back to order another menu item at Battista's. For an Italian meal with Vegas panache, you can't beat the deal Battista's offers. Dinner for two cost $60 pre-tip, a bargain for Strip prices.
