I really wanted to be able to give Coronado a a 4-star star rating, but when I really sat down and thought about it I just can't.
I come here quite often simply out of convenience and based especially on how inexpensive it is to squeeze in a quick 18 holes. But frequency doesn't always mean satisfaction.
I mainly come here to get in a quick half hour or hour chipping and/or putting session. However over the last 6 to 9 months, the practice facilities have definitely declined in quality.
- The chipping and putting greens are either overgrown or barren.
- Quite often you'll be hitting off of the mats at the driving range as opposed to the grass...which to be honest with you I can't stand!
- The course itself is fine as far as layout and green sizes. But having said that the quality of the fairways and especially the greens have also declined in recent months. One thing however has not changed a bit and that is horrible unevenness of the tee boxes themselves. Why is it too much to ask that's the tee box be at least level?!?!?! Ugh...first world problems, I know, but still!
- The pro shop is pretty decent, the clubhouse and bar and grill are fine and the staff is usually pretty cool.
This place is a couple of small and common sense changes away from becoming a much better course... But its cool I guess
