| - UPDATE: According to my budget tracker, I've been to this Zoyo 36 times now. Unfortunately, although I started off enjoying it, over time they've stopped rotating many of their flavors and one or more of their flavors have been out the last few times I've been here. In addition, as I mentioned in my original review, their liquid toppings (fudge, camel) are in room-temperature squeeze bottles. They don't keep them filled all the way, which makes it very difficult (and slow) to actually dispense anything from the bottles. I think I'll need to start looking elsewhere.
Zoyo is a local chain of frozen yogurt places that is similar to other chains in Phoenix and other cities (e.g., Menchies). They have about 6-7 different soft-serve machines mounted into to the wall, each serving two different flavors of frozen yogurt. You are able to walk around and taste any of them using small sample cups. When you're ready, you grab a container and fill it with whatever you want. There is a topping station with many different toppings and a few sauces. At the end, you put your yogurt on a scale, and you pay based on how much it weighs.
Zoyo's frozen yogurt is decent, though you can definitely tell it is not ice cream. It has a slightly more icy-watery texture than ice cream (and even other soft-serve frozen yogurt I've had), but the flavors are pretty good, and there is enough of a selection that you should be able to find something you like. The assortment of toppings is very good (they have maybe 25-30 different choices), though I wish some of the sauces like the chocolate fudge were heated instead of kept in squeeze bottles at room temperature.
Because most of their flavors are low fat or non-fat (and they even have some no-sugar added types), it is a good health-conscious alternative to ice cream or frozen custard.
