| - If I can give 0 stars, I would. I called today and spoke to one of their sales person because I had a couple questions regarding membership. I was transferred to a guy (Craig?) and I asked about pricing and what each membership includes. He quickly said that there are so many different packages and he can't list them all and recommended I come in. He also mentioned that the Dobson facility is a premiere faculty and started listing out how they have the newest equipment, pools, saunas, pools, and how they are not just a gym but a club.
Obviously I felt that was completely insulting as #1 I have had a la fitness membership in the past and I understand I would have to go through sales people and know what they offer. #2 obviously I know about their amenities because I wouldn't call if it wasn't something I was looking for. #3 it was completely rude and disrespectful of him to assume he knew what I was looking for or assume I don't know. What I am asking.
Eventually the man kept talking and talking and despite telling him I look for good customer service and clarified if he can give me a ball park or basic run through of fees, he resorted back to his great faculty and how it is different. He eventually told me it was up to me where I wanted to go when I informed him I am looking at other fitness clubs and cared less about my business.
I know it was probably just 1 bad egg but this is very horrible/terrible customer service. I felt like that man either does not know what he is talking about, has extremely poor customer service skills, and/or have so much business he doesn't need mine. This was such a bad experience. For a company to thrive it depends on good service and customers. I just wonder if that sales agent expects to be treated with such disrespect from clerks, doctors, pharmacist. If so I guess it's the golden rule for him, but I highly doubt that's how he would like to be treated.
Btw, I never really post in yelp, but I thought this experience was important enough to share.
As an update I gave La Fitness 1 more chance and called another location and spoke to Blake on baseline and 101 and he was so nice and helpful. He was upfront with me, transparent, and understanding. All my questions were answered and more. I don't know if the sales people work on commission but I would recommend signing up with Blake or someone at another location and if needed go to whatever gym is closest to you to avoid this experience from the Dobson and Warner location.
