| - In the past 4 years, we have stayed here five times. It has been dependable, reasonably priced, and close to popular destinations. Not luxurious, but a solid 3 stars. Based on our last stay, however, we will try someplace else next time.
The price has increased over the years. We are now paying over $80 (nearly $100 with taxes) per night, too much for being a few steps down from the typical Holiday Inn or Hampton. Check-in was unwelcoming as if we were interrupting something the desk clerk would rather be doing. The double door entrance is not automatic so expect some difficulty in bringing a luggage cart in and out.
The room fell short on cleanliness. The mirror had dried splatter on it, the sink faucet had soap scum, and the tub and bathroom floor had about 15 obvious hairs. I told the front desk. Instead of, "I'm terribly sorry. I'll send someone up right away.", I got, "OK, I'll write the supervisor a note." We cleaned the room ourselves with anti-bacterial wipes.
The room had dated decor with no fridge, no microwave, minimal storage, a small table and two chairs, and a nice TV. The carpet appeared to be in need of a good wash though there weren't any obvious stains. The beds were fairly comfortable, but I found the pillows either too soft or too hard. The A/C was moderately loud, simple to control, and effective. In the bathroom, the shower had easy controls and sufficient hot water and spray. The towels were OK, but not plush or large, and the fan was effective at removing steam. The sink outside the bathroom had an OK amount of counter space.
The wi-fi was a bit awkward to access, but usually maintained the connection. At times, the connection would be too slow. On the first night, I needed to print something from the internet and was told I could use the office resource center right above the lobby. I noticed both the fax and copy machine were out of order. The internet was useless as every page took forever to load. I told the front desk. Instead of, "I'll check on it right away.", the clerk told me, "I don't know anything about that."
Throughout the 3 night stay, the freshening up by the cleaning staff was minimal. Only towels were replaced, but even then, they forgot to give us a floor mat on the last night. By the end, we were out of toilet paper. On our first night at 1:30, there were loud patrons down the hall who probably woke up numerous rooms, but the next few nights were quiet. There was significant road noise, but we got used to the drone. Breakfast was good, but not super, with good selection and quality. I'd give this place 3 stars if it were $60 a night; but at $100 a night, it is too expensive for what you get.
