I arrived about 7 this past saturday........a saturday in DECEMBER........and was shocked the place was empty......so I have NOOOOOOOOOOO idea why I was so shocked that at 9, the lights were going out, the gates coming down and that was it !!!!!!! I remember in the 90's and early 2000's extended mall hours, huge huge huge crowds.....even the food court was empty and the ONE employee at the once hugely busy cookie store was at the counter......juggling a ball !!!!!!!! I was like OMG............how the years have changed........I noticed real Monroeville Police walking around and mall guards as well, which I think is great...........they have addressed gang and other problem-youth issues.......the mall looked clean and nice......they need to get a few more stores in and spread the word thru media/marketing that the mall is open and safe and ready for folks to come back !!!!!!!!! This mall, the crowd, the decorations, everything, in years past MADE Christmas special.......it can do it again !!!!!!!
