  • I actually have never used Yelp before, and I thought I could keep on trucking without a Yelp account for awhile longer, but I was wrong. Keep in mind while reading my review that I opened my Yelp account SOLELY to leave this review because I am so disappointed. That being said, here goes my first review: I was a long time client of European Wax Center since they opened their doors about eight years ago. During that time, I've had three different waxers that I have absolutely loved: they listened to me, and didn't leave me with sparse chola eyebrows that needed to be filled in with a Sharpie. To me good eyebrows are a must; when your eyebrows are amazing you can forgo most makeup. As important as eyebrows are to me (I mean I AM writing this review based solely on the topic of my eyebrows) I quickly became friends with my first waxer, then one day *poof* she was gone. The next waxer I had was just as good as the first, and I quickly became friends with her as well, and again, *poof* one day she was gone. Then came Tonia. She was AMAZING, and I was a client of hers for at LEAST 5 years. I got compliments on my eyebrows daily, and I referred a lot of clients to European Wax Center because of her. I was so concerned that I would once again be left high and dry that I asked her every time I saw her if she was going to leave. Redundant and annoying? Absolutely, but I was so afraid of her leaving that I literally became obsessed. When your eyebrows are on fleek, you just CANNOT risk your waxer leaving, and every time I asked she laughed and said "I'm not going anywhere". Well, one day I logged into the app to book an appointment with her and found that she was no longer on the books. She just *poof* no longer works there like the previous two; once again I was left to leave my perfectly groomed eyebrows in someone else's hands. I know for damn sure it wasn't because of her abilities. She was always on time, always flexible (I'd usually add a lip wax at the last minute and she was always so accommodating without running late) and genuinely cared about every single one of her clients, so I was shocked and horrified that she was no longer employed there. It seems like European Wax Center's business model is to let their best waxers go; which isn't a big deal if you just pop in and out for special occasion waxing, but, if you're like me and go consistently and build a rapport with someone, it is a HUGE deal. I am extremely disappointed with them. European Wax Center let one of their most valuable assets go. They have lost me and my referrals as customers. I would never again even consider going back, nor will I be referring anyone there in the future.
