  • I can hardly resist a consignment store when I walk by. Kit Apparel is no exception when I am in the Inglewood area. I have never bought anything from here, but I always give it a chance when I am in the area. The reason why I gave it three stars, is because I have seen some great things (that I didn't have to have, but I recognized the value of them being available), and also, I have seen some items that in my mind, shouldn't have been there in the first place. I have to agree with Wendy's comments in her review, that they do not seem picky with what they accept. The Highlights ============ - They have a large selection of shoes and purses. I'm not big on buying second hand shoes, but I appreciated the selection - They offer mens and ladies consignment. Not many shops in Calgary offer mens. I'm obviously not the target market here, but its nice that it is available - They usually have a discounted sales rack on the sidewalk - They have a little parking lot - I can usually find items in my size, which is not always the case when I go to consignment shops. I'm not saying those items are always my "style", but at the very least, they seem to have a good selection of sizes. - Items were priced fairly in my opinion. Many consignment stores that i have entered in inner city cost as much as retail. Kit Apparel does have fair pricing, considering they are paying inner city rent for that location. - It seems to be well organized in there. I have no trouble finding the bags, the jeans, the blazers, etc. The Lowlights ============ - I tried on a white button up blouse that was in my size, that I envisioned to go perfectly under a grey blazer. Sadly, a few of the buttons were missing. I don't think these were inspected before they went onto the floor. - Many of the jeans that I looked at were dated. I DID see one pair of Silvers, which got me a little excited, but the majority were names that were not recognizable, and the color of denim suggested that they were not of this time (one pair had a denim that was a cornflower blue hue). Since the prices are reasonable, and I am a huge supporter of reuse and recycle, I want to give this place my business. I really do. Sadly, I just can't seem to find anything that I am willing to spend my money on to support this business. However, because I believe in what they are doing, I will keep trying to find that gem in their racks whenever I am in Inglewood. Consignment is hit and miss. Maybe I simply keep missing. I will be back when I am in the area and will certainly update this review if I strike it big in there.
