| - There is nothing terribly wrong with Kinderland Cafe. It's in a good location in a great shopping center (next to a great kid's consignment store), but there are a couple of things I can't help but nitpick.
First, it's $12 for the first kid. That seems to be the ceiling on how much you can charge in this city. Most places are $10 for the first kid.
Secondly, the food policy is incredibly strict. If you are going to restrict what food can come in, even for the adults, then you need better options on what food you are selling. I'd be happy to buy all my food at Kinderland Cafe if it wasn't just junk food and applesauce pouches in a display window.
Thirdly, and this is tough to say because she clearly loves her job... the female owner is very, very, very, very friendly. It's overwhelming. She picks up kids and hugs them, smells babies to see if they need to be changed, and tries to get all of the children to surround her while she pretends to sing. I understand that she is enthusiastic, and that's great, but I'd prefer if she toned it down just a notch and let the kids play among themselves. Or at least hold off on being the high energy play mom until she encountered some kids who were anti-social or something.
There are a lot of positives for Kinderland Cafe, of course. The place has a great assortment of toys for all ages of kids and none of them appear to be broken. The owner had backup batteries for all of the toys so they were up and running minutes after dying and the place is spotless. The couches up front are super comfortable and those with infants will love the baby swings.
