| - Malee's -- Absolutely yumsterlicious.
Normally, I don't care for Thai food -- much too much sugar, garlic and gooiness. But what a fabulous surprise Malee's turned out to be.
The entree selections were exactly as described on the menu without going overboard on spices and exoticness (my word). We ordered the shrimp/scallop soup and a coconut-curried fish plate. Neither disappointed; both delighted. The soup's broth was delicate but tasty, and the fish bounty was so abundant we needed "take-home" boxes. Not to be out done, the second entree's combo of curry and coconut, while traditional, was virtuoso.
The service was as good as the food -- exemplary (sorry about the other reviewer's bad experience). Our waitress, Oi, was so energetic, friendly and informative that we felt as if we were dining at the home of a good friend. Great service can go a long way masking mediocre food. In this case, the service complemented!
Malee's is wonderful without having to be overly cute. My advice -- run, don't walk when you next hunger for Thai cusine.
