| - The first employees I dealt with were OK and I thought they knew what they were doing, but the bike mechanic is absolutely useless and really shouldn't be working with bikes at all, no finesse with mechanics and very poor English. I would never take any bike in there no matter how old it is, for any reason and I live really close.. I have taken my bike in for two things in the last three weeks and have had to go back again and again. I expect repairs to be perfect or I would do it myself.
Also they way they treat your bike, like it's a piece of crap you found in an alley, is not something any one needs to see when it's your property.
I had new gear shifters replaced and got halfway out of the store and found that they had put them on in front of the brake levers, so my knuckles were completely jammed under the shifter levers and I have small hands. The kid at the front started trying to reef on the brand new levers and brakes to try and move them without loosening the screws. Then he was installing new grips and got a mallet and as hard as he could, kept hitting and hitting over 15 times, the end of the new handle bars like he was chopping wood at a campsite. Instead of trimming them down more.
Better still, the left side shifter does not work at all and the gears are stuck in the 2nd set.
I wish I had taken my bike to one of the "do it yourself places" like Bike Sauce. At least I would know it's done properly and carefully.
I still have to take the bike in again to have the other shifter and brake lever changed around and get the left side shifter to function.
I went in to ask if they still had the same mechanic and the guy at the front who I assume is the manager was so rude, that I couldn't believe it. He wouldn't even look at me while I was speaking to him, he was astoundingly rude and defensive. There's no excuse for this behavior. I had to ride all the way to their other location to have this thing fixed. It's about 4 kms out of my way.
Never ever again.
