| - Boy it kills me to rip this place up, but I have to. The old Nora's is dead and gone. I was a long time regular at the old spot, and disappointed that I only see a few familiar faces in the new location.
We had a resi at 8 on a Sunday, and waited about 10 minutes passed that for a table. Once we were sat we weren't greeted. Ever. Not by a busser, not by a manager, and definitely not by a server.
We were right up front by the hostess stand, so we asked one of the 4 girls standing there if maybe our server didn't know we had been sat, and they assured us one would be right there. After nearly 15 min, we abandoned ship to dine at the bar. If we hadn't had our hearts set on the meal, we would have left for sure! Our equally unattended neighbors were jealous that we had found 3 seats, especially since they had been sat before we even walked into the building.
Once we secured some service, we found that Adam was a fantastic bartender, and the only redeeming thing about the visit. He was prompt, attentive, and personable. We appreciate that he took care of a round in apology for the slow service.
Food was good as always, even if it was missing a certain je ne sais quoi.
I think what bothered me the most is that after we sat and waited unacknowledged for so long at a table, we saw tons of staff standing around and holding up the walls for the duration of the meal. The chefs looked unoccupied, 3 waiters and bussers milled about while the bartender's trash can overflowed (even after he asked for a clean up), and none of the signature Nora's service quality was present. No folded napkins when guests went to the restroom, a woman dropped her pepper flake shaker and went unassisted with 2 young waiters remarking that someone had broken a plate (couldn't be bothered to break off their conversation and pick it up), and just general lack of genuine interaction that I loved before. It used to be like dining at the mob's table, and now it's a one-off Cheesecake Factory.
I'll try again if only to sit with Rudy, Danny, and Adam- but it's getting hard to recommend as a top spot on Las Vegas
