| - Okay... I feel a little silly reviewing a subway station, but as a dedicated TTC rider ever since I retired my vehicle and moved to a place on a streetcar line, seven years of daily rocket riding has made me a bit of an aficionado.
There are many subway stations I mildly dislike, but I have found the most soul crushing of all is Kennedy station. There is a strange paradox here... can one feel dreary and vulnerable? Those two emotions seem too opposite to coexist, but that's exactly how I feel at Kennedy station. Putting aside its sorted history of stabbings, the very lay out of the station is unsettling. Specifically, that long passage to the "kiss and ride" - yikes. And the waits I've had for some routes and the vulture reaction when the bus finally shows has really trampled my faith in humanity.
Leaving from Warden station, one never knows how long it will take to actually make it to Kennedy. The amount of signal problems they seem to have on this final eastbound stretch is vexing.
I know a washroom at a TTC station seems like a blessing especially in a desperate situation, but again, I caution you. I used it once and it was one of the most foul restrooms ever. BLECK.
In short, they can play all of the Tchailovsky they want; it's not going to make me feel any more comfortable commuting in that station. And for the record, I was born and raised in Scarborough.
