| - So we are locals, we live, eat, and play here so we are always looking for new places to try. We take advantage of, Travelzoo, Groupon, LivingSocial and the local papers for good deals. We tried Fellini's because I read all the reviews and thought, ok it's a strip restaurant and it's got good reviews. Now the deal was $59.00 for dinner for two, this included a soup or salad, a main entree up to $34.95 and a shared desert. Not a bad deal. It also offered a 25% discount if you chose to add an appetizer. Now the restaurant recommends reservations so I made one. There was really no need as the place was empty when we got the at 6:00 pm on a Friday night on the strip. We though that a little unusual but some people like to eat later. We were greeted by our waiter who introduced himself and asked for our drink order. He was friendly well informed about the menu and made some great suggestions for wines, appetizer, and entree's. we took advantage of the discount and ordered the bruschetta, it took 30 minutes to get to the table. 30 minutes for toasted bread with some chopped tomatoes REALLY ! it was tasty but nothing to write home about. We ordered the Caesar Salad it was really good but a bit over dressed. I ordered the linguine and white clam sauce. It was over loaded with onions which I don't care for in this dish. Overall the rest of it was bland, bland, bland. My husband ordered the spaghetti carbonara. Now this dish is supposed to be in an egg sauce with either pancetta or bacon and parmigiana cheese. It came in an Alfredo sauce. We didn't finish our dinners box them up and took them home to our dogs. We chose the cannoli's for desert. I don't know what was wrong but it had a soapy or perfume after taste. My husband didn't taste it so maybe it was just me. To be fair the shells were crispy and you could tell the cream was freshly made, just what you want in a good cannoli. So that's it. The waiter was GREAT, the kitchen was slow with the appetizers but got better with the rest of the meal. The food was just ok nothing to rave about. At $59.00 for the dinner another $45.00 for the drinks, appetizer and an automatic 18% gratuity added. Which by the way is one of the reasons I think the restaurant isn't as good as it could be. I think everyone I did see had a coupon. The staff know there getting there 18% either way. We eat out often and the real test of a good restaurant is consistently putting out good food. The key word is consistent. So fo a $100.00 meal that was pretty poor we won't be going back. Sorry, we were hopeful that we found a new favorite but not today. I'll take Nora's restaurant on Flamingo any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The best Italian food in town !
