  • As someone who has suffered from gastrointestinal issues my whole life, I can tell you that the diagnosis and treatment of the numerous potential problems are very difficult. When our son presented symptoms similar to what I suffer from, we had him at the ER three times; once at Centennial Hills and twice at Summerlin. At Centennial, they told us nothing was wrong. At Summerlin, they told us the first time that his symptoms were from inflamed lymph nodes. When we left Summerlin the first time after a 3 day stay, his symptoms briefly disappeared and then reappeared within 10 days. We went to Summerlin again and had to fight hard to get him admitted again because we knew he was still very ill. Once admitted, we told the awesome attending doctors on the pediatric floor that we would not leave until they had a gastroenterologist see us. Since Dr. Baron is so well respected across the nation we asked for him. At first, we were disappointed that he wasn't the one that came into our son's room, but after a minute of talking to Dr. Rhee, we knew he was the right guy for us. Based on my history he said he wanted to be aggressive and do an endoscopy and colonoscopy on our very young child. As someone who has had dozens of these procedures in my life, I, in agreement with my wife, was thrilled that he was willing to take a look to see what was wrong. These tests are invasive but not dangerous when done right. Lo and behold my son now also suffers from Crohn's Disease as I do, which was confirmed by these tests that Dr. Rhee was willing to do without hesitation. Had he not been willing to do so, we would likely still be dealing with a small child with constant abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. We were also visited by Dr. Mileti in the hospital and she too was amazing. We have since been to the office numerous times and like all doctor's offices, there are some staff members that can rub you the wrong way but all in all, everyone has been great. When we have questions or concerns we leave a message and actually get a call back from Dr. Rhee. There are not too many doctors that will take the time out of their hectic lives to personally call a patient back. Thank you to all of the doctors and staff at this office for being there for our son!!!
