I read the reviews, went with trepidation based on my friend's obsession with the place. He's all about looks and that's what you get. It's pretty (although the Buddha Bar thing is a bit "done" now). The food, however, is consistent with other Panda Express reviews. I figured that it would be more P.F. Chang's but I was wrong. PFC is not really Chinese either, it's Amero-chinese and they do a good job of it. TAO is totally mall Chinese. I can be OK with mall Chinese. Two meats, a veg and some noodles for $10? Great! One meat for $25? Not so much. To make matters worse, it's generally pretty bland for the sugared-up type of Chinese food that this tries to be.
If you're into the Buddha Bar looks of the early 2000's, this is great. Otherwise, go elsewhere if you care about food.
