My first visit to Vdara Hotel was fairly positive - it won't compare to the 5-star experience of the older brothers/sisters nearby but with the right people, timing and expectations, it might be better than one might expect.
My friends and I got a suite (which our weekend was around $500-$600 for 2 nights). We were luckily given a small upgrade with a beautiful view and even though the suite wasn't humongous, the view was pretty nice and the amenities were all solid. My only complaints in the room would be that our refrigerator bottom was falling off and that the outer restroom in the living room lacked much in terms of handles and a shower. Otherwise, the overall room was solid. Service was also usually on point unless you're looking for something in the late evening in which it seems that housekeeping is busy beyond belief.
You also have to note that this hotel doesn't have a casino which has its own pros/cons. Perhaps the best aspect about Vdara though comes with the location. You're literally a 5-minute walk away from Aria and Bellagio and the cab rides will be a quick hop to most of the hotels for less than $10. There's even a tram to go to Crystals and other nearby venues too which is always a plus.
One last tricky part is the parking. When you come up past the Cosmo entrance, you'll see a sign pointing up towards Aria/Vdara. Keep on following it up the ramp and then staying on your left to see another ramp going towards Vdara past Aria. Tricky for first-timers but not too bad once you figure it out. Thanks to all the great people that gave us great service all-around!
