We had light go out and could not seem to get another bulb in. We called Allstate because we have used them in the past. They had to come out twice that time, but only because they installed a faulty part the first time. But they didn't charge to replace it, so I thought they were straight shooters. Well I still think they are by the book, but this time we felt kind of taken. The electrician (an assumption on my part) was friendly enough, though I did not learn his name. He was wearing black sweatpants and sweatshirt with no name tag or company insignia. He came in an hour which was awesome. But the electrician quickly figured the socket still worked (not the reason for our call), and it was indeed hard to get the bulb screwed in. He suggested pulling the recessed lamp out to get a better grip on the bulb. Then he called Allstate who told him that the 2 minutes of work meritted a service call fee of $85! So nothing criminal here, but word to the wise-no breaks from these guys!
