I have been a loyal Carmax customer for over 10 years now and today they just lost my business. Over the years I have purchased and sold 6 cars through them in Las Vegas. The reason I am no longer giving them my business is over a $88 part. I purchased a Tundra last September and it had 2 items that needed to be repaired and was put on a repair order. The Salesperson informed my wife and I that we would be contacted to have the truck brought back in to fix the issues (broken tail light and broken antenna). We had a baby in November and life got busy and did not realize until last month that we were never contacted. I called the service department and the girl on the phone said well, it has been over a month so we can't fix it. I informed her that it was not right that we were told we would be contacted and never were and now we had to pay to fix it. I could care less about the antenna issue but the tail light is something that could get me a traffic violation. I went to the location today to see if I could straighten this out and was told that they would not honor the repair order as it has been over 30 days and they would sell me one at cost. I have always been extremely happy with Carmax and the no haggle sales approach, but to me it is not about the $ it is the principal of this and I will take my business elsewhere in the future.
