| - I have done about a dozen escape rooms and this was, without question, the worst escape room I have ever done. We did the hardest escape room at the Dundas Street Location (Dream World). Two of the doors were left open (though the locks were shut), but we waited to actually access those doors until we had already opened the locks. Three of the technological elements (yes, they are technically "2nd gen" (higher tech) escape rooms as promised) did not function. We had to call for a hint to get very specific instructions as to how to make these elements work; we had been doing the right thing to solve the puzzle, but weren't inputting the solutions according to what their very particular "2nd gen" technology required. In addition to these functional flaws, the design of the rooms was very uninteresting and linear, and there was an audio recording that we had to listen to for clues that looped throughout every room and was impossible to stop. The physical design was lazy (uneven paint, a doorknob that came off of its screw to expose the sharp end of a screw). We requested a refund on the basis of this experience but were not provided with one.
Overall, I would not recommend this room to anyone, anywhere, even if they had already paid. To us, it was very clear that the owners of the escape room had established this room as an easy cash cow that required very little attention or upkeep. That said, there were a few birthday parties of ~10 girls around age 10 that seemed to be having a good time with some of the other rooms, so perhaps those are more what this company's clientele should be.
