I have a home warranty and this is the company my warranty people chose to diagnose and fix my hot water problem.
I didn't get hot water back for more than 4 days but it would be completely unfair to blame AMA for this. The repair/replace decision is totally up to the warranty company. Once they made the decision for replacement it took place the same day.
Oscar (the technician) was wonderful. He just left my house after making the replacement and it's now 8:30 p.m. He could have easily put this off until the next day but told me that he didn't want me to be without hot water any longer. I also want to say that Christine and the other ladies in the office were also very professional and helpful.
The duration of the process is one of the downsides of using a home warranty company. If I'd been willing to pay $1,200 I could have had a hot water heater replacement the day my old one failed. Instead, this entire process has cost me only the $65 service call charged by the warranty company. For that difference I'm perfectly willing to get by with cold water for a few days.
