  • I ALWAYS try to make time for a little downward ruff ruff no matter where I go! If you know me you know I LOVE YOGA! I have tried all sorts of things to stay healthy and in a shape other than a circle! As I get older I need to be more limber like when I was knee high to a grass hopper. It all helps. So being in Phoenix was no different. I had pre scoped out places to go to Yoga and brought an outfit but left my travel mat. The resort where my conference actually offered Yoga but I kept missing the classes because of my conference. Sniff, sniff! So to YELP I went in search of one of the places I bookmarked. I was dealing with a finite amount of time in the evenings or mornings so I needed a place that fit into my busy schedule and this place fit the bill. It was $16 for a drop in class and $1 to rent a mat and I could use a resort towel. That price was GREAT but I decided to see if Groupon had any deals and BAM they did. I could get 5 CLASSES for $20. It must have been my lucky day because Groupon was having a SALE so I saved a few more bucks and only paid $16 for 5 classes for the price of one. That is a cha-ching moment in my book! WHOOMP THERE IT IS! Most people who know me know my FAV F-Word is FREE but my FAV phrase is "Take an Additional". OMG so GREAT! I can't remember what day I arrived but it was in the afternoon. I had to sprint like a cheetah to class and arrive about 6 mins before they started. I signed the waiver and showed my Groupon and I was in. I also asked to rent a mat. In my rush I flew out the door and left my water so I bought one for a $1. THANK GOODNESS! I really didn't know what type of yoga class it would be but I figured if it was strenuous I would just push myself but NOT kill myself and if it was more low key I could am it up a bit, so either way I'm usually ok. I did the 530 level 1 class with Stephanie. I was able to amp it up a bit which was PREFECT! This class was called Anusara and welcomed to beginners and continuing students. Stephanie moved slow and used modifications for all the newer or beginner students! She made sure to EXPLAIN correct body posture in poses and used blocks and straps to make sure everyone moved without injuring themselves. I for one can attest that doing yoga incorrectly you can really hurt yourself. The class was GREAT and by the end I FELT AMAZING! Just what I needed! I took another class but this time I managed to wake up at the butt crack of dawn so I went to a 6am yoga class. This was called "Good Morning" and it was for all levels. Michele was our teacher and she was GREAT! I was able to take it up a notch and do what my body needed and when I got over heated I rested then jumped back in. We did a little bit of everything. GREAT way to start my day. I didn't get to use all my Groupon because of my conference and class but it sure felt WONDERFUL getting into two classes for the price of one and getting my YOGA-ON! I would go back here in a heartbeat!
