  • So my GE washing machine quits. It is a 2010 front loader model with some bells and whistles but not a special model or anything. I live in Wickenburg. The first guy I call, recommended by friends, tells me he can't get there for a week. So I tell them I'll press on. Based on Yelp reviews, I call these guys. First the good. I called them Monday and they said they can be there Tuesday between 10-2:00. That's perfectly acceptable. I'm good. On Tuesday about noon, they call and say they will be there in about an hour because they were stuck in Surprise. Again, no problem. They get to my house, nicely dressed, matching shirts (there are two guys, one the owner, one the employee) with the name of the business. Nice guys, so far I'm impressed. My husband had already gone through a list of items that that it could be (based on GE's own manual) and tested them. They gratefully and quickly checked each item we had already checked (again, no problem on our end) and promptly told us we needed two new control boards and it be would 717.00 DOLLARS AND would take TWO WEEKS to get the parts. We are like, for that much money, I can buy a new washer, which the owner promptly told us. I have a guy at Spencer's ( a local business in Surprise) who will give you a good deal! We said we are going to think about it.They charge us 79.00 service fee (a little high but I'm ok with it, also, if you use a credit card, it's actually 3% more FYI)) We also find out on the invoice that they are replacing two parts, not one. So they leave and now WE pull the bad parts out of the washer and we test both of them. Only ONE is actually bad and if the employee had bothered to put a voltage meter on that part, he would have found out we only needed one part and not two. We then go to the internet, because we are just shocked at a two week timeline. We find at least 5 different wholesale parts places with the bad part in stock and two day delivery, and the part is guaranteed. So I call these guys back, and ask them where are you getting your parts that it takes two weeks to get this part? The owner, Mario, tells me they have to use their parts guy to get the part guarantee. I tell him ALL of the parts are guaranteed at these places. So WE order the part on the internet, get it in two days, install it and the washer is fine. I understand that Appliance people have to charge extra money to get the part because they need to make a living. I actually might have had them FIX IT if the price wasn't OUTRAGEOUS and they were making me buy another part I didn't need. The part I needed was't cheap, it was $300.00. The other part I didn't was another 150.00. So 450.00 and they tacked on 267.00 to put them in, which the parts plug in, you just have to unscrew some panels. But, they said they would refund the 79.00 service fee LOL. So, in review, They apparently don't really want to fix anything if it's to hard and are living on the 79.00 service fee. And they have somebody they refer people to if you want a new appliance. I cannot recommend them, about the only positive thing I can say is that they were nice.
