| - Upon arrival, despite observing many open tables (both inside and out), we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. We asked about the open tables (ie- were they all reserved????). No answer was provided by either of the two hostesses but we were now advised we could be seated outside right away (odd, right?). Immediately after being seated, we noted that all the patio misters faced outward, misting the sidewalk only. None of the tables on the patio are misted so the patio is absolutely unbearable in the July early evening (7PM). We opted to instead wait at the bar for an interior table. The hostess was advised and could easily see us at the bar as we sat just a few feet away from her, in her clear view. After waiting almost an hour (!!!!!!), all the while noting that most of the tables remained open throughout this time (while the hostesses chatted among themselves), we asked how much longer we would have to wait for a table. The hostess immediately responded "your table is now ready". The table she was bringing us to had been open the entire time we waited! WTH?! Then, while heading to the table, I slipped on a wet spot on the floor (spilled water??) and fell, hard, falling first on my knees, then my thigh and finally hit my mouth/head. While falling to the floor, I dropped my martini which shattered, pieces lodging in my leg. For the record, I want to note that I only sipped about 1/4 of my fruity martini during our long bar wait so I was not inebriated nor was I in a state of being unsteady for any reason. The bartender can attest to this as my family and I were chatting throughout our wait. The floor was wet and I went down which has resulted in a very bruised thigh, a bruised/swollen lip with internal cuts, welts on my arm, and three glass cuts on my calf. A man ( the Mgr??? No idea...) came over and helped me up and then proceeded to busy himself with cleaning up the glass. The hostess asked if I was ok, joked that my fall looked like it happened in slow motion, and then she proceeded to sit me down at the table which was covered with glass shards and martini. I told her I thought I was ok (I wasn't...I was dazed to be honest as it was a hard fall to my face). My 21 year old daughter then stepped in and advised that our sitting at a glass shard table was unacceptable and asked that we be moved to another table in a different area. The Manager never introduced himself, never came over to check on me, never asked me what happened, never offered me a band aid/something to clean up the blood on my leg, never asked me to fill out a claim form (to protect the restaurant and have the incident on record), and never even offered to replace the spilled drink. NOTHING. Even worse (if it could get worse), we waited 10 minutes and NO ONE came to our table to service us. The server in the area waited on the two tables on either side but did an excellent job ignoring us. Needless to say, we got up and walked out. I have never been treated so poorly at any commercial establishment/restaurant in my entire life. Has anyone at this establishment been trained? Their customer service is appalling and the Manager is inept. I am the CFO in the hospitality industry and my company owns/operates 3 restaurants. If this Manager, the hostesses and the server worked on our team, they all would be fired. It has been 5 days since my fall and I am still bruised and I am still in pain. Shame on everyone involved at the Greene House. Your total lack of human compassion is unacceptable.
