| - Honestly, dim sum places in Vegas are not that impressive. Yum cha has become my first choice when the craving hits. There's a lot of positives to this place and a few misses. What is most noticeable about this place is the customer service. The workers speak a fair amount of English, which helps because they are able to explain the food they are offering and answer questions appropriately. You'll always spot the man in the orange, who I assume runs the place. He's always got a smile on his face and is constantly interacting with customers. He's been prompt and follows through with specific dim sum orders we had. Most dim sum places in town do not even go the extra mile and many workers come off rude. Not here!
I am not that adventurous and stick with the basic fare like: hargow, shu mai, char siu bao, beef/shrimp noodle, sticky rice, pineapple buns, egg tart, and sesame balls. I did enjoy the quality and freshness of the food. The pork shu mai was my least favorite since it was on the bland side. The sticky rice, pineapple buns, and sesame buns were my favorite here. I also liked that they offer roti here!
Another major difference here is the large glass counter/open kitchen where you can walk up and order dim sum beyond what is offered on food carts. This is where you can get congee, fried rice, desserts, and more!
The space is large, airy, and very clean. Location is situated on Tropicana/Decatur in the shopping center with Walgreens. Be aware on holiday weekends, this place will charge more (like $3+ for basic dim sum). I feel like I spent a lot more than I would on dim sum that I had in the past from other places.
