| - I've gone to conventions at the convention center next door and always wanted to try the Hyatt. I was not disappointed!
The location is an absolutely amazing convenience for convention-goers. I usually stay farther away and have to take the metro light rail into the center. But just the location makes me want to stay here every time.
The staff was very friendly for our whole stay. It was in August, but still for a smaller convention, so price was great and there weren't tons of people everywhere like normal PCC timeframes. The lobby is huge and spacious, with lots of lounging areas to hang out in. And there's nicely flavored water in the lobby. When you don't want flavored water, there's a dispenser in the wall to dispense cold, pure water into a cup or glass, which I really liked.
We didn't get to try the bar/restaurant in the hotel, but they do have a happy hour, which we want to try next time. During conventions, they have an upstairs food area open, and grill foods right outside. So at least what I've had between their burgers, fries, hotdogs, grilled cheeses, and such at those spots, it's all been great.
The room itself was pretty spacious and bed was comfy. One night, I called the front desk for a few some extra coffee kits and a small mouthwash. It took a while, maybe half an hour or so, but someone came and gave a whole bag full of coffee kits! There were around 6 packs of coffee and several packs of tea, along with napkins, sugar, creamer, stirring straws, cups, etc. They also gave a few mouthwashes. I was really surprised with the amount they gave, all complimentary, so that was above my expectation. We had a coffee and mouthwash party, and took the rest home!
I was very satisfied with my stay and hope to stay here again for future conventions!
