rev:text	We were here for a fundraising type dance/dinner event. The site from the outside looked better on the internet. When we pulled into the parking lot I thought it wasn't a banquet hall. The hall is actually in the process of being renovated. In terms of decor, half the walls in the ballroom wasn't done yet (u can see it was being primed soon). The lights were taken out of the walls and ceilings but the drapes were up. It will probably leave a better impression if was completed. Luckily, it was just a fundraising event and not a wedding. The washrooms look new & very clean. The stage area will look great w/ uplights but then again what room doesn't look good w/ those lights? I'm glad we were sitting near the back as the sound system was a bit loud... or was that the DJ's equipment? Food - honestly it was as expected for banquet hall food. The menu was... Mixed field greens (aka lettuce), with orange dijon vinaigrette and toasted almonds and mandarins - ppl at the table complained it was too salty. i just thought it had a little too much dressing but otherwise it was acceptable. Entree - Double breast of chicken stuffed with wild rice medley - they said double right? cuz it was just one. either that or it was a small breast. i thought it was fine. just a teensy bit dry but the sauce probably saved it. Oven roasted potatoes with garlic, olive oil and rosemary - i usually like this more crunchy but it was fine. Seasonal medley of vegetables - slightly salty but acceptable Dinner rolls & butter - aka bread (not toasted) Dessert - Ice cream Crepe (this was good but then how can u screw up ice cream?) and coffee/tea. My tea looked a bit green after I poured in the cream. It was a bit watered down. But again... this is banquet hall food and we should just be happy we can have a meal. Service was questionable. We had a cranky lady serving us. She had asked our table who had wanted tea/coffee. One friend was not present at the table when the server asked. So when our friend came back & asked for tea/coffee the old lady was all pissed off and raised her voice (practically shouting) "I WAS JUST HERE AND ASKED YOU!!!"...whoa..... Also when we were eating dessert another server was already clearing things and asked my hubby for his napkin. But.... we are still eating and will need our napkins.....
