  • Was super sick for about a week but decided to tough it out and go to work. On the way there, I was feeling worse and got off the freeway at Bell & SR51 to call my doctor. The first place to pull into? PV Hospital. While I'm calling my doctor, who recommends I go to the ER, the guy parked next to me comes up to my window to let me know I have a completely flat tire. Best day ever. I ended up at the ER at the hospital for two hours and was released to a car that still had a flat tire. After a quick yelp search, I called Quik Pik to change my flat. Being at a hospital right off a freeway, I didn't think it would take that long. I was wrong. After 45 minutes, I called to make sure someone was on their way. The lady assured me the driver would be there in 15. After 30 minutes, I called again and was again promised the driver was almost there. Finally, 20 minutes later, I get a call from the driver who said he was almost there and needed directions to my exact location. I told him I was in the parking lot at PV Hospital, parked along Bell Rd. at the edge of the parking lot that is at the SE intersection of Bell Rd. & PV High School Rd. I also gave him make, model, and color of my car. I even stood outside to make sure he saw me. The guy drove right by me 4 times. Each time I would call him and say, "You just drove by me," and he would say, "Yeah, I think I saw you." Then I'd watch him drive around the other side of the parking lot looking for me before making a u-turn on Bell, and then doing it all over again. After 10 minutes of this, he finally found me. The guy was very nice and apologetic, and had my tire changed pretty quickly. But all in all, it took over 2 hours from the time of my call to the time I was able to drive away. I spent less time in the ER at the hospital. For $45, I would have rather taken a cab home and come back later with a friend to change my tire. Lessons learned: 1) don't call Quik Pik 2) it's probably time I learned to change a flat tire.
