Let me start out with.. these prices are nuts! AJ's is not the place to do your regular grocery shopping by any means (and this usually means I don't go too often). I just can't justify the 30-50% markup on things I can pick up at Trader Joes, Costco, or Fry's.
AJ's does from time to time have good deals on a few select items or offer things that are hard to come by elsewhere - and this is where they redeem themselves. For example, AJ's is my stop for getting soft shell crab in season - do sign up for their newsletter to find out when they come in, along with some of their better deals.
AJ's is good for a bite to eat or drink, but never buy anything that isn't unique there or on sale in terms of the grocery department. This particular location can be a bit troublesome for parking because of all the businesses they share the plaza with.
