Just be very careful at check out and pay attention to your receipt. When I was checking out recently, I noticed that the total on my receipt was a lot higher than I had expected it to be. So, I asked the cashier to review it with me. There were items on there that I had not purchased. He immediately recognized the error and said those items were left over in his machine from the previous customer's transaction. Hmmmm. Unfortunately he couldn't void the order, so he had to send me to customer service. The customer service department was not certain what happened or how to void out only the items that I did not purchase, so they had to call the store manager. The store manager had to figure out what had happened (by this time, I am completely OVER this entire thing) and was back and forth to the cashier and the register. Somehow about a decade later, they were able to subtract off what I didn't purchase. The store manager gave me a coupon worth $40 in Kohl's cash, which I saved for a later purchase. It was a nice gesture, but in my opinion, the cashier who made the big error should have been reprimanded. I'll never know if that happened, but I do know that I will always pay attention to my receipts in this store from this point forward.
