Great views from this restaurant which is really one of the only truly positive things I can say about the experience. This was a $220+ dinner for two and it was at a Four Seasons resort so yes, my standards are high - as they should be! Here are a few notes, that I sent to the manager after she gave me her card and told me to email her when I complained that they also neglected my husband's birthday -- and it was written into the reservation!
1. I asked for water at least three separate times. Why?
2. The waiter wasn't consultative on my wine selection. I asked him to describe the wine in a way that would translate to a typical California wine - Merlot, Cab, Pinot and he seemed a little stumped by this question. I wound up (by my own choice) trying something new - Barbera (sp?) and wound up loving it though.
3. Our food was all quite good. My issue was with the shrimp primarily - lots of work to remove shell, messy. I asked the waiter for guidance on my selections and he really didn't provide a lot of feedback to me regarding the tapas selection or an appetizer.
4. My husband's birthday was completely neglected. I have attached a picture of the note from the concierge that specifically called out his birthday on the reservation. She also made a big deal saying that she was making the note when I made reservation last month, so my expectation was that it would be highlighted in some way. The hostess also didn't recognize his birthday either.
5. Sidenote - our waiter seemed to have a lot of tables and I thought overall the pace of the service wasn't timed all that well. He seemed rushed at our table - I believe he had at least three, possibly four other tables which could explain why we thought he wasn't all that attentive or consultative.
Overall - this place is not worth the money. There are so many great options in Scottsdale.
