For the last 4 years or so we have stopped in at Six Penn Kitchen during our twice annual visits to Pittsburgh. They have a happy hour, have a great rooftop deck and are situated close to PNC Park. There are three levels and a bar on each level. For beer drinkers you better figure out what you want because the tap selections are different on every level. Depending on who serves you, you may have a server who will get you what you want wherever you are seated...or if you had one of our recent servers up on the top level - forget it. If you want it get it yourself but then they give you the attitude because they lost out on the tip! We stopped in on our way to a Pirates game in early September and because of the heat, chose the empty first floor bar, staffed by a dark haired bartender who was slow to wait on us and reluctant to tell us about the drink specials. Didn't offer a menu, obviously not delighted to be there that afternoon! Beer options are Ok, if you prefer wine the actual options are not so great. Plus your whole experience may be influenced by your server's attitude. In my case I was so disgusted that I just had a glass of water since my companion had ordered a beer already. If you want a great rooftop bar, this is a place to go. If you want a friendly staff you can go just about anywhere else to find great menus, nice wine and beer selections!
