| - I purchased a Groupon to try Fitness Works out for 90 days. Wasn't too impressed with the gym itself, and decided to cancel 45 days in. The cancellation process has been terrible! First off, the sales person at the gym (Chris, don't use him!) lied and said that with a Groupon you're mandated to sign up for a membership, which customer service just told me isn't true. They also made me pay the last month up front, but told me that would be refunded if I gave them 30 days notice. I cancelled June 18th having paid up front until September 1st, and they just charged me for the first part of August (again!). The woman at customer service I spoke with was unbelievably condescending and rude, and acted like I should be grateful that they aren't charging me for the second part of August (which they had planned to until I called)! She also basically accused me of being an illiterate, as well as stating "You signed a contract, and we cancel memberships at our discretion." I'm filing a complaint with the BBB, and making sure that I tell everyone DON'T GO TO FITNESS WORKS. Mediocre gym, poor class selection, and terrible employees and service!
