  • I was pretty skeptical when yet another fancy ice cream shop opened in the neighbourhood (legit, there's been four to open in St Henri in the last year-ish) but I have to admit that Pandan, with its Thai-style ice cream rolls, sets itself apart. We were lucky enough to visit during a quiet spell (early evening on a not-too-hot Sunday) and we were able to get our pandan on quick fast. Well, as fast hand-made to order ice cream rolls are made. The flavour I ordered, peaches and cream, I found was a little bland but I'm sure someone with less of a sweet tooth would enjoy the subtlety of straight-up frozen peaches and cream with cornflakes on top. The other flavours we ordered (Strawberry & Hibiscus and Coffee) that I got to sample were down-right fantastic. I'm not sure I'd be inclined to visit all the time with the $6.5-a-pop price tag but it definitely makes for a nice treat. They also have several vegan flavours available!
