| - I no sooner got home from out of state, dealing with my father's death, in time for our yearly inspection. The inspection was going fine until we inquired about a problem we'd been asking them about for a few months, ever since the plumbing burst and got fixed. Then, suddenly, the attitude from Dana changed. "Oh, you're THAT property!" and suddenly she began complaining about how we had too many holes in the wall (most of which was thumb tacks). Then, days later, we receive a notice stating our lease would not be renewed. As we received this notice on the 22nd of June for July 22nd, and our rent was due on the 1st of July, we paid the full months' rent. After talking to a professional of our own about the problem, we determined that sewer gas was being released into the house. Upon explaining this to them via email, they responded positively, that such was an easy fix and it could change everything. We didnt trust it, so we opted to find a place and begin moving. The plumber THEY chose to call arrived and claimed to not smell anything (as did Dana when she did the house inspection, despite our professional and ourselves finding it unmistakable). The plumber did, however, find the seal on all three toilets to be broken, which would account for the sewer gas getting into the house. Had we known this, we would have reported the rocking toilets when we moved in. Still, we moved out in two weeks. On the 12th, we stopped by their office to turn in the keys. Dana proceeded to be very rude, refusing the keys and saying we couldnt just walk into their office without an appointment! We were also informed that they would NOT pro-rate us anything more than from the 22nd to the 31st, despite us already trying to turn in keys, which they refused. So we sent them the keys via mail with a confirmation that they were signed for by the 22nd. Due to having gone through a month and a half of going back and forth watching my father die and then hurrying up and moving in under two weeks, we opted to forfeit the deposit instead of cleaning. However, they then tried to charge us for the plumber they chose to call out. When we tried to call them about this, we were told Faydra was not in the office and we could leave a voicemail. When we asked to do that, Faydra instead answered and screamed at my husband for daring call her after hours! We still have not received our pro-rated amount from them nor any other contact, well over two weeks after they got the keys. I will never do business with these people ever again, and neither should you!
Update: I wouldnt say MANY. there were several calls concerning the busted pipes that consisted of damage prior to us moving in. We did NOT demand our security deposit back, it was suggested to us and we asked about it at a later point in time. We were completely moved out by the 12th. We showed up asking to turn in the keys at 3:30 (your office closes at 5), but were told to talk to Dana. Dana came out (in her gym outfit) and, insisting that "you cant just walk in without an appointment! You wouldnt like it if I just showed up at your home, would you?" We ASKED about our rent being pro-rated from the 12th and were told NO, you would only pro-rate us from the 22-31st. When just the woman at the desk was there, I did quietly mention to my husband about a lawyer, but NEVER said so to either you or Dana (because you never came speak to us, only Dana did) so we left with the keys that we mailed to you via certified mail. After we got home from trying to drop off the keys, we found an 85 dollar bill from your company for the plumber YOU called out AFTER we started moving out. In trying to get your voicemail, YOU ANSWERED. You cut him off and told him you would call him BACK when you werent so busy. That was 27 days ago. Until yesterday, we have NOT HEARD A WORD FROM YOU SINCE THEN!
Update 8/21: To their credit, they did finally pay us what they owed us.
