This store has many unique features aside from that it isn't run/operated by Asians. I, myself, used to work in a boba store in NorCal so I could definitely appreciate the art of boba and smoothies! This place is unique because they offer 2 types of boba: white vanilla and honey black. I tried the white vanilla because I've never seen this boba anywhere else. It was really great, sweet and chewy. I tried the taro coconut blended drink, the strawberry tea over ice and the original. I didn't care for the taro too much because coconut cream's too sweet for me but the other two drinks were great. The smaller size (called baby fat) was too small for my taste but I thought the cup designs were awesome and they had really cool seals and straw covers. I love the name of this boba shop and am surprised, coming from San Jose (a place where there are more boba shops than Starbucks), that this name hasn't existed before. They advertise themselves as "Fat Straw: an edible drink." I've never heard boba pearl tea be referred to in this way before.
