Just4Fun is a recreational facility in the Bloor/Lansdowne area, about four months into operation. I've played quite a bit of floor hockey at this location through TSSC (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/toronto-sport-and-social-club-north-york#hrid:uUjxozEzM7MAGvV5CxozLw) and also organized pickups. Other sports can be played there including dodgeball for example.
Just4Fun has great potential and I've enjoyed playing there to date. Clearly there is some work to be done to bring it to a 4 or 5 star organization.
Pros:
- Accessible gym in the downtown core - this is rare - if there are any others I would like to know about them
- Fairly spacious court
- Good flooring for sports
- 2 courts can have multiple games running at once
- Pickup Floor Hockey is being run 12-3 on Sundays for $10/person (as of this writing)
- Gyms can be rented by the hour, prices are reasonable
- Friendly, accessible owner
- Free parking
- 10 minute (or so) walk from Lansdowne station
Cons
- Temporary bathroom is sketchy, while usable, they should be kept cleaner. You need to walk over the playing floor to get to it.
- Temporary changerooms should have places to sit, hooks to hang clothes, and floor needs to be cleaned / swept more frequently.
- No free drinking water (water is available via vending machine, better yet bring your own)
- Facility is located in a somewhat sketchy area of town - ideally have someone come with you the first time if you are walking from the subway
- Since opening improvements to the facility have been made but I would like to see them done by now.
