| - Don't let the shabby looking storefront mislead you, if you're craving some Korean food in Madison, you've found the right place.
I ordered the dukbokki along with the tofu soup (pretty much soon doobu jiggae), while my friend had the bibimbap. These dishes are seen in just about every Korean restaurant across the US, so there should be little room for errors. When the appetizer dukbokki came, the serving size surprised me. I thought the appetizer alone was enough to fill one person up, and I was right. The tofu soup was also very generous in portion, bigger than what I've had in other Korean restaurants (NY and LA).
Now for the taste, everything was on par with what I had expected. The duk looked really spicy (it's all red and slimey, delicious looking) but wasn't that spicy at all. The soup which at first I thought wasn't spicy, started making me sweat as I had more of it. The degree of spiciness was just right, and by the end of our dinner, my taste buds were completely satisfied (imagine someone's expression after coming out of a hot steam bath or sauna or something).
The person who took our orders was very friendly and tentative, and the place overall gives a very casual and welcome feeling. I'd imagine on a cold Madison winter day this place to be the perfect spot to sit and sip the delicious, spicy, and hot tofu soup with some friends. I'll definitely be coming back soon.
