Earlier this month I went to a wedding and without getting your hopes too far up there about this all I can say is.... Universal Event Space totally redefined my expectations about what a wedding can be.
I know, it's a huge statement right?
Well Universal delivered on all fronts and I was only a guest, I wasn't even a groom (or bride... hey it's 2016 anything is possible right? Just kidding). But seriously wow!
Every salon/hall has an extremely grand entrance way, they even had a snare drummer out front playing along to swanky lounge music to welcome guests as they arrived. And instead of getting their name on a plaque, printed paper affixed to a door or large frame - each wedding is identified by a giant rotating high def sign which showcases the couples name and pictures of them.
Moving into the lobby of the banquet hall you're greeted by an amazing beverage and hors d'oeuvres reception. It was unreal, because normally when you attend an Italian wedding you come to expect italian only eats. The food arrangement was a truly delicious global food journey (with some Italian as well).
Entering the hall proper after the reception was truly breath taking. The ceilings seemed to go up forever - if they weren't 50 feet high at least I'd be surprised. Modern and elegant decor with a massive 360 degree bar that goes from the lobby into the hall as well as a great dance floor.
The food served at dinner was extremely tasty, my one critique was that while the flavours were top shelf, and the pasta portions were amazing, the mains were a little smaller than I'd seen in other halls in past. But there is where having a vegetarian fiancee really benefits my voracious meatitarian appetite.
Great experience overall, cannot wait to go back again!
