  • This place is a literal house of horrors. The only reason it got any stars at all from me is because individual members of the staff are very kind and caring. But nobody seems to know what anyone else is doing, and their main goal seems to be bilking patients and their insurance companies out as much money as they can. I took my husband to the ER there yesterday. The right side of his body was weak, he couldn't use his right hand at all, and couldn't stand or walk unassisted. The paramedics told us that Spring Valley had the best stroke and trauma unit in the valley, so, in spite of a previous bad experience there, I consented. It is now nearly 24 hours later, he still hasn't seen a doctor, still doesn't know if he's had a stroke or not, and has received test after test. Blood labs, a CT scan, an MRI, and still no diagnosis. And they want to do MORE expensive tests that seem to be completely unrelated to his condition. A test for West Nile Virus? Holy Moses, we live in a frigging DESERT, it's nearly 100° or over, and the humidity is at about 3%; we have no standing water anywhere. There ARE NO MOSQUITOES HERE! The ER doctor nicotine-shamed him ("you can't afford your medications but you can buy cigarettes?"). VERY inappropriate. Plus her English was so strongly accented we could barely understand her. He's had nothing to eat except one of those turkey and "cheese" sandwiches that they sell in convenience stores. They did bring him a meal of some mystery meat that he couldn't even pierce with fork, some green beans that were most likely harvested by ancient Egyptians, and some dry, stale rice. We're still wondering why they delivered a packet of ranch depressing and a diner mini-tub of butter substitute when there was no salad or bread served with the inexcusable dreck. If you're sick, stay far far away from this place. I wouldn't suggest going there even if you're well; they'll MAKE you sick so they collect more money from you. Seriously, we are considering legal action.
