| - I would NOT recommend them! Most importantly, I would NOT recommend Dale Bennett! He just left my home and was possibly the rudest and LEAST knowledgeable man I have ever encountered. I cannot believe they have such a good BBB rating and the Internet is not flooded with negative reviews. Which means they have been either extremely lucky or he is not normally the person who does the work. I assure you if he was then the BBB rating would be an F-. The sad thing is I did my homework before I hired him. I thought with 22 years experience and a good BBB rating they must know what they are doing. Boy, was I wrong. On top of it, they were even more expensive than any other company I called. I needed someone who knew about automated pool systems because my automated box was not turning on my pumps. They assured me he knew all about them and he has done this for 22 years. Boy, they got me hook line and sinker.
So, he shows up at my house with a frown on his face. Please keep in mind this is the owner of the company. Yes, a frown. He never once smiled the entire visit. I was very nice to him to start. I stayed out there and watched him. He opens up my automated Polaris box and cannot figure out how to turn on my pool. WOW!!! I could not believe what I was seeing. He then proceeded to call tech support for Polaris. He asked them how to turn on the pool. I jumped in and helped him turn the pool on and then showed home how to turn on the spa. I knew I had wasted my money at that very moment. 22 years of experience my butt! He tried telling me how rare my system. Please! My house is only 5 years old and Zodiak is the largest brand in the pool industry. It was more like my equipment was too new for him. Actually, the age should not matter. It is not rocket science. It was on the first screen and you had to select "ON". The fact is he was a complete idiot. On top of it, he never even asked me how to do it. I was standing right there. Instead he wasted 15 minutes, of which I was being charged for, calling tech support. I paid for1/2 hour labor so I asked him to do "something" ..."anything" so I can get my moneys worth of labor. I needed a knob replaced but he had an excuse for not being able to do it. He made excuses why he could not do any other work. Seriously, clean out my filters or something. He just wanted to leave. So, I said than I think it is only fair you reduce the charge. He argued with me and I said then I want you to do something for the time I paid for. He again made excuses. I then threw out a number ($50 instead of $80). He stormed off to his truck and was throwing his tools in the truck. He was throwing a tantrum! So, I went inside. He came to my door with a higher price and I said you are going to have to do better than that. He said, "forget it" and stormed off. I offered him $50 for not only doing nothing but also having me show him how to do his job. I have owned this pool for 6 months and he has been in business for 22 years yet I have to show him how to turn a pool pump on! Seriously! So, he should have ran with the $50 and not looked back. As he was leaving, I told him he may want to get educated on automated systems before you tell customers you are an expert fixing them so the customer does not have to show you how to TURN ON THE POOL PUMP! I am still in shock how rude he was with his frowny face and how un-knowledgeable he was. I would HIGHLY recommend you find ANY other pool service company. If they can't turn the pool pump on I would not trust them with even cleaning my pool. You have been warned.
