| - I've been driving past this place for quite some time. My wife and I were in the area and decided to give it a try. We should have kept on driving! First of all, this place has tons of potential. Good location and the building is actually kinda cool inside. The service was typical of what you would typically expect from such a restaurant. Certainly no complaints! The food on the other hand was not very good, to say the least. My wife and I both the green corn tamales w/ beans. To be fair, the tamale was ok. It wasn't horrible, nor was very good. The refried beans that accompanied the dish were about the same, on the bland side. The beans were also the smallest portion of beans i have ever seen at a mexican restaurant. I'm guessing maybe 3 ounces, if that. The most disappointing part of the meal was the salsa. By far the worst salsa I've ever had! This is no joke! Picture taking tomato paste and tomato sauce, adding some garlic salt, and walla! Pretty terrible actually! I wanted to write this review to educate the owners/manager of this establishment. Please fix the salsa! Open a cookbook, or hire someone that has worked in a Mexican restaurant kitchen before to overhaul things. Fill the plate with bean or rice, its cheap and it makes people feel like there getting a lot for their buck! On a positive note, I found the restaurant to be oddly charming. Its the most quiet restaurant I think i've ever been in, and there were quite a few people dining while were were there. Its almost like a being in a basement or recording studio. The ceiling has these very large wood beams and the bathrooms were unexpectedly nice and clean. I really hate giving this 2 stars. I might go back, but it won't for for several years or until I hear the food has improved. My 2 cents!
