  • I used to work in Liberty Village and it's been a long time since I've been back so I welcomed the chance to meet a few friends for Summerlicious lunch ($15) at Origin. The last time I was in Liberty Village, the location of Origin was another restaurant called Liberty Noodle. Yeah, it's been awhile. Starters - I chose the Market Salad while the others chose the other two options - Devilled Egg and Cucumber/Sweet Potato salad. The Market Salad was nothing out of the ordinary - just a small mix green salad. I did like the ginger dressing - it was tangy and light. Mains - We all chose the Crispy Calamari with vegetables. The calamari was lightly breaded but it was not crispy. At least the calamari wasn't too chewy. Veggies were slightly soggy. Dessert - I went with the Dulce Du Leche option while the others picked the Chocolate Torte. Dessert was definitely the highlight of my meal! Portions for all courses were tiny and I definitely left still hungry...thank god for the Liberty Village hot dog cart! Service was decent but did take awhile to get our bill. 2.5 stars - Might give it another chance outside of Summerlicous for drinks.
