| - After doing a deal with this organization, we agreed to a BBQ Island with the understanding that payment terms were as follows; one half down prior to production (approximately $2,500) with the balance due upon delivery. Prior to delivery, this company indicated that their payment policy had changed and they are requiring final payment prior to delivery. This issue was not resolved even though a telephone call had been requested to further discuss the matter with key decision makers. The bottom line here is as follows; it is very risky to pay $5,000 in advance for a product that has yet to be inspected to ensure completion is as expected. Additionally, consumer advocates from all Phoenix area news channels warn against this practice.
In the end, all the compromise in this matter fell with us and we agreed to make final payment in advance of delivery. This really was the viable solution at resolving our impasse. Prior to making this final payment, we did visit Backyard Accents to assess their operation. In all fairness to this organization, they do run an efficient operation and do produce a high quality product, at what we believe is a fair price.
Never has product quality been at issue. Rather, the low rating is a result of questionable business practices and their lack trust on the part of the consumer, as well as sound thought and principal regarding consumer perception.
