| - Their cab driver stole my nursing pillow. I am not even kidding.
We got a large van taxi home from the airport a couple of weeks ago. As we were putting our luggage in, I very clearly remember placing my large, blue nursing pillow, which I use to breastfeed my newborn, in the back seat underneath his car seat. When we were getting out, my husband forgot to grab it. We called the cab company the next day (Sunday) - fortunately we had a receipt so we knew the car number - and they said they would check with the driver and call us back. They didn't call us back. My husband called again on Monday; again, they said they would call back, and didn't. When I finally called them for the third time, they apologised and said (surprise surprise) they would call us back. After a few hours waiting, now having gone three days without my nursing pillow (my baby nurses every two hours and being without this pillow was a massive inconvenience), I called them again and asked what the hell was going on and why we weren't getting any answers. Finally, that afternoon, the dispatcher guy called me back and told me - guess what - that the driver insisted nothing was left in his cab.
Which, not to put too fine a point on it, is total horse s$*t.
As I told the dispatcher, I get that it was our fault that we left our possession in the guy's cab. I get that it probably happens to him all the time, and he gets sick of it. I get that the driver probably thinks it's a huge pain in the ass to have to drop off a nursing pillow to the depot so that a breastfeeding mother can go get it instead of having to spend $80 on a new one (more than the cost of the cab ride, which was also pretty extortionate, by the way). But the fact that he just decided he couldn't be bothered and so lied about it, insisting that we never left it in his cab, when we ALL KNOW - me, him, and the dispatcher, all know that is a barefaced lie - that actually disgusts me.
Never again. Their drivers are dishonest and their customer service was not interested in helping us at all.
